"The former President Mahinda Rajapaksa held discussions with the Bhikkus for Peace and Justice and a group of artistes at the Abhayaramaya in Narahenpita this morning.
Over 500 Bhikkus representing all districts were present at the first meeting with the former President.
The president of the organization is chief incumbent of Abhayaramaya Venerable Muruththettuwe Ananda Thera.
The discussions were centered on obtaining an early election and for making the former president the UPFA prime ministerial candidate.
The monks insisted on forming a new political party and fielding former President Rajapaksa as the prime ministerial candidate, unless SLFP nominates him."
