Team Sightseeinglanka offers safari excursions and camping safaris. We offer good, comfortable facilities for guests at well-known camp sites inside national park or, for budget travellers who want to avoid wildlife department charges for overnight stays, at our own special camp sites just outside national park border but still in the wildlife areas.
We hope our services make your safari not only a pleasant one with plenty of wildlife observations, but also an experience of the hospitality of Sri Lankan villagers, who are usually less engaged in the tourism industry.
Sri Lanka’s conservation efforts for fauna and flora can be criticized in many cases, but it can be claimed that ecological awareness and environmental protection is better than in comparable developing countries. One reason for this is the Buddhist tradition of care for animals. In Sri Lanka, conservation of nature dates back to the third century BC, when the first recorded nature reserve was established in Mihintale, which is the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka is gifted with a tropical biodiversity and a variety of attractions for nature lovers, big wildlfe parks as well as rain forests and mountainous areas. Some national parks and nature reserves offer easy jeep safaris, while others require to be explored by trekking. Our camping tours offer additonal opportunities to enjoy moonlight safaris.
National parks with camp site facilities are Wilpattu, Yala and Udawalawe. Reserves with camps are Sinharaja tropical rain forest and Horton Plains and Knuckles Range montane cloud forest.
