A group of Kandy dancers in their classical dresses can be seen in front of this photo in front of a building that is a museum. It’s the ola-leaf manuscript museum of the Aluvihara. This post-colonial building was once visited even by Sihanouk from Cambodia, because the Aluvihara is regarded in high esteem by Buddhists in all Theravada Buddhist countries, since it is believed to be the place of the fourth Buddhist council, where the sacred Pali scriptures of Theravada, the Tipitaka, was written down for the first time.
